Chapman To and Pang Ho Cheung support Dada Chan
Winning the Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actress with VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET), DaDa Chan Jing 4 months later announced her retirement from the screen. VULGARIA director Pang Ho Cheung and Chapman To Man Jat both expressed their support. Pang Ho Cheung two nights ago tried to change her mind online. "Why mind a mirage? The body is hard to come by. Why not ignore the snickers and the criticism, since we are just after momentary pleasure. Best of Luck." Yesterday after learning that DaDa retired for health reasons, Pang Ho Cheung wrote, "Nothing in life is more important than the pursuit of inner peace. Hong Kong film needs you, but it doesn't mean that you need to satisfy everyone's expectation. Keep being yourself, and live you life the way that you like. Always smile, you are the most beautiful when you smile."
To Man Jat wrote online, "Everyone has the right to choose how they live their lives, you don't have to be starry and glittering. Yet when you retire from this circle, don't you just end up in another circle? The world has no job that has no pressure at all, only the mood that you decide. When you feel your problems are huge, the world may not even notice you. Chan Jing, you place a hold on your desire to retire from show business. If you change your mind, the lead actress of my movie at the end of the year will still be you. Good night! Have a good sleep!"
To Man Jat said that he did not call DaDa. He said, "We are in the heat of the moment, I will wait until she cools down first. Did I feel DaDa's mood had problems? The more money city people make, the more stress they have. It's normal. Since DaDa and I started working together, I haven't felt that she had mood problems. At work she was very normal, very professional, whatever she was asked to do she was willing." He joked that DaDa might have kept everything inside for a long time and erupted all at once.
Did he feel DaDa's retirement was regrettable? To Man Jat said, "She doesn't have to work in this business. This business is very tough to take. If you do you have to be tough. Everyone has their own ideas. I don't know why she has decided not to work anymore. I would support whatever decision she would make. If she quits, the movie at the end of the year will be recast."
