Miriam Yeung explains low pay for new movie

Hong Kong actress Miriam Yeung recently admitted to rumours of her supposed low fee to star in Pang Ho Cheung's "Red Spider Lily".

Previously, the media reported that Miriam Yeung and Louis Koo have agreed to join the new project for a mediocre fee of HKD 1 million (USD 128,946) due to the success of Pang's previous low budget films, "Love In The Buff" and "Vulgaria".

It was also rumoured that director Johnnie To was furious upon hearing that both of his "Don't Go Breaking My Heart 2" actors have decided to participate in the movie despite having signed on to be in his movie.

At an event recently, Miriam confessed to reducing her usual pay from HKD 3 million to HKD 1 million for the movie, saying, "In truth, we were supposed to film "Red Spider Lily" before "Love In The Buff". I agreed on the lower price because I had already signed the contracts before the switch."

Miriam also denied reports that the production schedules for "Red Spider Lily" clashes with the Johnnie To's movie, and clarified that "Don't Go Breaking My Heart 2" has already started filming.
