Louis Koo accepts mediocre pay for Pang Ho-cheung's movie

It was reported that Louis Koo has recently agreed to join the cast of Pang Ho-cheung's upcoming movie, "Red Spider Lily".

According to HK Channel, the actor was allegedly Pang's second choice, after Hong Kong singer Eason Chan turned down the role due to the director's refusal to agree on the acting fee, as well as the singer's conflicting schedule.

A source stated, "Louis realised that Pang Ho-cheung is a rising film producer, what with the success of "Vulgaria" at the award events recently. So he took the chance to star in the film with a mediocre fee in hopes to win Best Actor."

It was also reported that director Johnnie To was furious when he heard about Louis's participation in the film for only HKD 1 million (app. USD 128,946) in remuneration, as Louis has also signed on to be in his upcoming project, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart 2" for his usual fee of HKD 8 million app. USD 1,031,568).

Pang Ho-cheung, who is known for his low budget films, reportedly will be making "Red Spider Lily" under the budget limit of only HKD 18 million (USD 2.3 million).
