Eric Tsang denies competition with TVB

Eric Tsang recently denied speculations that he plans to compete against TVB with his upcoming Lunar New Year film with Raymond Wong (Pak Ming), as reported on Oriental Daily.

It has always been a fact that Eric Tsang has been making Lunar New Year films for TVB as part of an annual friendly rivalry with Raymond Wong's production. However, as TVB recently gave the opportunity to Wong Jing's movie, "From Vegas To Macau", it was speculated that Eric has decided to switch sides and work with the "All's Well Ends Well" actor instead.

The actor, who made an appearance at the ceremony to unveil his wax figure at the Hong Kong's Madame Tussaud's with his son Derek Tsang recently, clarified that he has no intention of competing with the company or Wong Jing.

The actor stated, "Raymond has offered somebody else to helm the movie, but the person in question dropped out. So I decided to lend him a helping hand."

The actor also denied that Raymond is paying him a hefty remuneration for the project, saying, "It is a lot, but not exactly astronomical."

When asked if he has discussed the matter with TVB before taking the project, Eric joked, "I told them about it. TVB is afraid that having Chow Yun-fat may not be enough to drag Raymond down, so they sent me to do it!"
